Prime Minister Narendra Modi praised India’s substantial advancements in the green energy sector on Thursday, noting that the country has become the first G20 nation to fulfill its Paris Agreement commitments. Speaking at the inaugural International Solar Festival in Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam, he attributed the impressive growth in solar energy as a crucial contributor to this achievement.

He emphasized the government’s commitment to transitioning toward renewable energy and highlighted initiatives aimed at increasing solar capacity, such as the PM-KUSUM scheme and the National Solar Mission. Modi expressed optimism that India would continue to lead in renewable energy efforts, inspiring other nations to adopt sustainable practices and work collaboratively toward a greener future.

In his address, the Prime Minister also called for greater international cooperation in the renewable energy sector, urging G20 nations to share technology and best practices. He reiterated India’s dedication to becoming a global hub for solar energy, aiming to enhance energy access for all while addressing climate change challenges and fostering sustainable development.
